What is your major and when do you plan on graduating?
Supply Chain Management and I plan on graduating in April 2021.
What marketing/digital marketing do you enjoy learning about or are very interested in?
I actually did not know much about marketing when I joined AMA, so it was super interesting to learn about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Google Adwords, because they are two concepts that I have never really heard of before.
How long have you have been a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA)?
This is my second semester, so almost an entire school year?
Why did you originally join the AMA?
I honestly joined to be able to say I was a part of something on my resume, but I kept coming to meetings because I enjoyed being with other members.
What is your position on Executive Board (E-Board), what does it entail, and what do you like most about your position?
I am the Director of Professional Development and my position is basically assisting the Vice President (VP) of Professional Development with planning workshops and company tours, contacting companies and organizing and working on our pro-bono consulting with a company. I think that I have a unique position because we are the “talk” of AMA and I love being able to bring opportunities to my fellow peers to develop their professional skills!
Why do you like AMA and E-Board so much?
I like the vibe of AMA? That sounds super hipster and millennial but it truly is a great group of people and we all get along well and work well together. Having good rapport in a group is so important because you get more work done and you have fun while doing it.
How has being a member of AMA and E-Board benefited your personal/professional life?
Being a member of E-Board on AMA has definitely helped me develop my self-confidence and public speaking skills. I have also learned how to contact people professionally and to just have basic conversations, which are definitely skills that can be transferred into my future workplace.
How do you think AMA benefits members and why do you think people should join?
I think that AMA is truly a unique experience because we provide a variety of things for members to do at one time. We incorporate a professional development aspect with workshops while also doing a case competition in the fall and teaching marketing skills that can be used in the future, too. People should join because there is a great social aspect combined with learning as well.
What do you want to do after graduation (specific job, career, etc.)?
I want to work in purchasing in the fashion industry and work on creating a more ethical and sustainable supply chain. I will definitely use the skills I have learned on E-Board in my future career.
