Eric Tresh

What is your major and when do you plan on graduating?

I am a digital marketing major and will be graduating in December 2019.

What marketing/digital marketing do you enjoy learning about or are very interested in?

I am very interested in the creative side of marketing. But I also enjoy learning about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and the social interaction side of marketing.

How long have you have been a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA)?

I have been a member of AMA since 2017.

Why did you originally join the AMA?

To be apart of a student organization on campus and create new relationships with my peers.

What is your position on Executive Board (E-Board), what does it entail, and what do you like most about your position?

I am the Vice President of Competitions. This entails prepping the team going down to New Orleans for the competitions and speaking events that we participate in. I enjoy the most working with the team and getting ready to compete against other students from all over the country.

Why do you like AMA and E-Board so much?

It creates a closer bond between everyone and allows you to have a central team that you can rely on.

How has being a member of AMA and E-Board benefited your personal/professional life?

It has allowed me to open new doors to opportunities that I didn’t have before, because I am able to show I can work in a professional environment. Also, it shows I am willing to take on more responsibilities than just my grades.

How do you think AMA benefits members and why do you think people should join?

It allows you to tap into others' perspectives and opinions, which will help you grow into a better person. I think you should join to learn from others on how to market yourself better and also to create new friendships that will last longer than college.

What do you want to do after graduation (specific job, career, etc.)?

I would like to work either in a marketing agency or for an automotive company helping create marketing plans for new vehicles.
