What is your major and when do you plan on graduating?

I am a Digital Marketing and Information Systems Management double major and will be graduating this April 2019.

What marketing/digital marketing do you enjoy learning about or are very interested in?

I thoroughly enjoy all marketing related topics. However, I am extremely interested in on-site and off-site search engine optimization, website design, and pretty much anything else website related.

How long have you have been a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA)?

I joined AMA in January 2018, so about a year and a half.

Why did you originally join the AMA?

At the time I really wanted to learn more about marketing and do marketing related activities outside of the classroom. Also, I wanted to meet new people instead of just going to and from class each day.

What is your position on Executive Board (E-Board), what does it entail, and what do you like most about your position?

My position is Vice President of Digital Media. This involves updating and maintaining the website and, more recently, maintaining our chapters LinkedIn page. As a Digital Marketing and ISM double major, it just seemed natural to be interested in website work. Honestly, I enjoy all of it. It is very rewarding to see your work out in the open and having people go to the website to learn more about AMA.

Why do you like AMA and E-Board so much?

Both are a great way to be involved on campus, AMA is great to meet new people and work on marketing activities outside of class. While E-Board is a great leadership opportunity. You get to work in a diverse group of people which truly prepares you for the "real-world".

How has being a member of AMA and E-Board benefited your personal/professional life?

Due to being in AMA and E-Board I was able to secure my first internship. This led me to be able to secure another internship for after graduation.

How do you think AMA benefits members and why do you think people should join?

This organization benefits everyone that joins in a different way for each person. But overall, it is a great way to meet new friends who are interested in the same industry, who are also trying to help each other advance in school, their career, and life.

What do you want to do after graduation (specific job, career, etc.)?

I have an internship with Carhartt about a month after I graduate for an IT Policy Process Intern. I am extremely excited to start this position and work for such a great company that makes a great product and truly cares about the customer, their employees, and the community.
