What is your major and when do you plan on graduating?
My major is Accounting and I plan to graduate April of 2020.
What marketing/digital marketing do you enjoy learning about or are very interested in?
I like learning about up-to-date marketing trends, such as how businesses use social media to advertise themselves to gain popularity.
How long have you have been a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA)?
I've been a member for almost 2 years now. I joined in Fall 2017 and became an Executive Board (E-Board) member in Winter of 2018.
Why did you originally join the AMA?
I was looking for involvement and I saw that AMA had a spot for all majors to be involved and learn about how to market yourself and build your brand.
What is your position on Executive Board (E-Board), what does it entail, and what do you like most about your position?
My position is VP of Finance. I handle all Treasury and financial work for the organization. This means I keep track of all accounts, budgeting, and membership dues. Also, I'm in charge of all New Orleans case competition expenses, fundraising, and Chicago travel reimbursements. What I like most about the position is handling money and having influence on how our organization spends our money.
Why do you like AMA and E-Board so much?
Because of AMA I have a lot of experience that I can share with recruiters and interviewers. Over the past year I've made my closest friends and got to be involved in enjoyable events.
How has being a member of AMA and E-Board benefited your personal/professional life?
I've gained professional hands-on experience helping run an organization. Personally, this helped me to come out of my shell and communicate and network with many other students and professors.
How do you think AMA benefits members and why do you think people should join?
AMA is the greatest organization at UM-Dearborn. Everybody can benefit from any major they pursue. This is the best chance to professionally develop yourself, learn about networking, and build your career path.
What do you want to do after graduation (specific job, career, etc.)?
Go for my CPA and Master's.
